The main allegation against Robert Vadra is that he was involved in a land deal that involved false documents and irregularities, leading to windfall gains and proceeds of crime.
The land deal in question involved a 3.5-acre plot purchased for Rs 7.5 crore and later sold for Rs 58 crore.
The case is being heard by Special Judge (PC Act) Sushant Changotra of the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi.
The ED alleges that the then Congress-led Haryana government, under Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, quickly granted a commercial licence to Skylight Hospitality, which significantly increased the land’s market value.
The court will first hear Robert Vadra and the ten other proposed accused before deciding whether to take cognisance of the ED’s prosecution complaint. The next hearing is scheduled for August 28.
