Cricketer Yuvraj Singh Takes Developer to Task Over Privacy Rights and Apartment Delay
Real Estate:Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has taken a developer to task for allegedly violating his privacy rights while promoting a real estate project and failing to deliver an apartment in the project in New Delhi. Singh has sent two notices invoking arbitration to the developer, M/s Brilliant Etoile Private Limited.

In the first notice, Singh alleges that the developer has misused his brand value and contravened the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) entered between the parties on November 24, 2020. According to the MoU, Singh was to promote and endorse the project in question. However, the developer continued to commercially use Singh's services, including his photographs on billboards, project sites, social media posts, and articles, even after the MoU expired on November 23 last year.

Singh claims that this is a complete violation of his Copyright, Personality Rights, and Right to Publicity, which are enshrined under the laws and protected as his Intellectual Property Rights.

In the second notice, Singh alleges that the developer has failed to adhere to the timeline and schedule of delivery for the apartment and has compromised on the quality of the material used, downgraded the fittings, furnishings, lighting, and finishing, and charged an escalated price that is more than the actual market price. Furthermore, Singh claims that the developer has failed to provide a clean and hygienic environment, which is in violation of the terms of the Agreement to Sale.

Yuvraj Singh is a renowned Indian cricketer who has played for the Indian national team and has won numerous accolades, including the Man of the Tournament award in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
