The waterlogging in Kolathur and Korattur was caused by the incomplete construction of stormwater drains (SWDs) and poorly maintained roads, exacerbated by Cyclone Fengal.
Several areas in Kolathur, including Vivekananda Nagar Main Road, Senthil Nagar, and Kadappa Road, were the most affected by the waterlogging.
The main concerns of the residents include persistent waterlogging, poorly maintained roads with potholes and open drains, and the lack of proper repair and maintenance by the civic authorities.
The Corporation officials have dispatched men and machinery to address the issues, and motor pumps are used to drain water in affected areas.
Residents have filed multiple complaints and expressed frustration over the persistent issues, with some even relocating to nearby areas due to the flooding.
