DDA Extends Payment Deadline for Towering Heights Flats in Karkardooma to June 30, 2026
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced an extension of the payment deadline for flats allotted under the prestigious Towering Heights project in Karkardooma. The new deadline is set for June 30, 2026. This decision comes in response to the delays in obtaining statutory approvals and the anticipated physical possession of the property, which is likely to extend beyond the initially scheduled period of July 2026.
In a circular dated April 30, 2026, the DDA informed allottees that it will take an additional 30 to 45 days to secure all necessary approvals. Many allottees had requested extra time, and the DDA has accommodated these requests by extending the payment deadline.
The Towering Heights project, a premium residential development, offered 1,026 premium 2BHK apartments through an e-auction. The base reserve prices for these apartments ranged from Rs 1.8 crore to Rs 3.1 crore. The project is being developed under Delhi’s Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policy, marking it as DDA’s first such initiative.
According to the circular, no interest will be charged on payments due by March 31, 2026, which was extended to April 30, 2026. Allottees now have until June 30, 2026, to make their payments without any interest. However, any payments made between July 1 and July 30, 2026, will incur an interest rate of 10% on the outstanding amount. The DDA has emphasized that no further extensions will be granted beyond July 30, 2026.
The Towering Heights project is a significant milestone for the DDA, located in East Delhi. It includes 741 flats offered to individual retail buyers on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, 107 flats were reserved for bulk allotment to government institutions. The project is managed by NBCC (India) Ltd., a leading public sector undertaking known for its expertise in large-scale projects.
The development features a 48-storey tower, which will stand at 155 metres, making it the tallest residential building in Delhi. The East Delhi Hub, spanning 30 hectares, is being developed as a mixed-use urban center, integrating residential, commercial, and civic spaces around a metro hub. The project is strategically located adjacent to the Karkardooma Interchange Metro Station, providing easy access to both the Blue and Pink Lines of the Delhi Metro. It is also well-connected to NH-9 and NH-24 and is close to the Anand Vihar ISBT railway station.
This extension offers much-needed relief to the allottees, who have been facing uncertainties due to the delays. The DDA’s decision is expected to alleviate financial stress and ensure a smoother transition for the residents of this premium residential project.
