The 'Sasta Ghar' scheme is an initiative by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to make homeownership more accessible by offering a 25% discount on housing to eligible beneficiaries.
Eligible beneficiaries include construction workers, auto and taxi drivers, women, Vir Nari (widows of military personnel), ex-servicemen, gallantry and Arjuna awardees, individuals with disabilities (divyangjans), and those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
The special camps are set up at construction sites of major projects such as DMRC, NCRTC, CPWD, and NHAI, as well as other locations across Delhi.
DDA officers are present at each camp site to provide all necessary information regarding the scheme and to assist with the application forms. They also ensure smooth operations and oversee the camps.
Various departments will conduct outreach programs to raise awareness and facilitate the process for specific groups such as Vir Nari, ex-servicemen, gallantry/Arjun awardees, auto and taxi drivers, SC/ST applicants, women, street vendors, and divyangjans.
