Dilip Khedkar is the father of sacked IAS officer Puja Khedkar. He and his bodyguard are accused of kidnapping a truck helper to compensate for damage to their luxury SUV.
The truck helper, Prahlad Kumar, was kidnapped and held hostage at the Khedkar residence in Pune. He was later rescued by the police.
Manorama Khedkar was charged for obstructing government work, destroying evidence of crime, giving wrong information, and trying to save an accused from punishment.
The incident began at Airoli in Navi Mumbai when a cement mixer truck collided with a ₹2 crore Land Cruiser. The truck helper was later taken to the Khedkar residence in Chaturshringi, Pune.
Dilip and Manorama Khedkar are currently believed to be absconding. They did not appear at the police station as promised and have not been found at their residence.
