In a Diwali goodwill initiative, Mumbai Police returned recovered stolen items and missing mobile phones worth around Rs 1.10 crore to their rightful owners at a program held at Opera House, Mumbai, on Friday. The event was attended by Special Police Officers (SPOs) from Division 2 — Dnyaneshwar Wagh (Girgaon Division), Suman Chavan (Gamdevi Division), and Renuka Buwa (Pydhonie Division) — along with senior police inspectors, cyber officers, other police personnel, and 40 complainants.

Under Division 2’s jurisdiction, Mumbai Police have been proactive in investigating serious crimes, including theft, dacoity, and burglary. These efforts have led to the swift arrest of offenders and recovery of stolen property. By leveraging technical investigations and the CER Portal, police recovered 150 mobile phones reported stolen or missing from various parts of the country.
