A 50-year-old real estate broker was kidnapped by a duo over a financial deal gone wrong. The kidnappers, identified as Arunkumar and Parthiban, demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh. The police rescued the victim and arrested the suspects.

The suspects involved in the kidnapping were Arunkumar (36) from Pulianthope and Parthiban (55) from Vyasarpadi.
The kidnapping was a result of a financial deal gone wrong, where the suspects had invested money with the victim's female colleague for online trading. When they demanded their returns, they were told the money was given to Desikamoorthy, leading to the abduction.
The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh to release the victim.
The victim, Desikamoorthy, was rescued by the police from a hideout on Saturday evening after the police formed special teams to trace the ransom calls.
The suspects were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The police are continuing their investigation.
