The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is a financial intelligence and investigation agency under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It is responsible for enforcing the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
The ED has restituted immovable properties worth Rs 289.54 crore.
The properties are located in and around Mumbai, in prime locations.
The purpose is to return illegally acquired assets to their rightful owners and to restore public trust in the legal and financial systems.
The ED plans to continue its vigilant efforts in detecting and combating financial irregularities, enhance its operational capabilities, and foster greater collaboration with other national and international law enforcement agencies.
