The Care Leavers initiative is a program by UNICEF and Udayan Care that supports young adults without parental care who have lived or are living in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) to transition to independent living and fulfilling careers.
The Care Leavers initiative provides safe housing, legal identity, physical and mental well-being, financial awareness, employable skills, and competencies to mainstream young people for independent living.
Since its inception three years ago, the initiative by UNICEF and its partner Udayan Care has touched 139 young lives, empowering them to take the first step towards leading an independent life and fulfilling their aspirations.
The Care Leavers Center provides young people with education and skills training aligned with their aspirations, aptitudes, and interests, leading to employment and self-sufficiency.
Personalized mentorship is at the heart of the Care Leavers initiative, providing a comforting environment to understand the care leaver's situation and aspirations and associate them with the right mentor.
