The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Police has arrested Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Dillip Kumar Nayak for allegedly duping a Cuttack-based businessman of over ₹12.42 crore in real estate investments and land deals.

Dillip Kumar Nayak is a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader from Cuttack, Odisha. He contested the 2024 Assembly elections from Nimapara as a BJD candidate.
The fraud involved over ₹12.42 crore, which Dillip Kumar Nayak allegedly took from a Cuttack-based businessman named Bijay Kumar Rout for various real estate investments and land deals.
During the raid on Dillip Kumar Nayak’s residence, the EOW seized incriminating documents, including sale deeds, powers of attorney, agreements, and multiple bank account details.
The formal complaint was registered on September 19 after the initial complaint was lodged at the Badambadi Police Station.
The next step in the investigation is to trace the money trail and identify any possible accomplices involved in the fraud.
