Event Highlights Green Growth and Climate-Resilient Cities
The recent event on green growth and climate-resilient cities brought together experts from various sectors to discuss sustainable development practices. The focus was on innovative solutions that can help cities become more resilient to climate change while promoting economic growth.
The event highlighted the importance of energy savings and emissions reductions in driving customer returns. Johnson Controls, a leading company in the field, released its 2026 Sustainability Report, which detailed significant progress in energy efficiency and decarbonisation. According to the report, Johnson Controls' technologies have helped customers save over $9.5 billion in energy and operating costs, while also avoiding emissions equivalent to nearly six million US homes. These savings enable organizations to redirect capital towards growth priorities, capacity expansion, and workforce development.
In another significant development, Sā – The House of Shubhashish, a part of JK Jajoo Ventures, has entered Jaipur’s luxury housing segment with a premium residential project in Malviya Nagar. The project, estimated to generate around Rs 5 billion in revenue, is expected to be launched in Q3 of the current financial year, subject to regulatory approvals. This move marks the company’s formal entry into the premium and luxury residential segment in Jaipur, aligning with its broader expansion strategy across key urban markets.
Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) also took a significant step towards sustainability by strengthening its portfolio-wide climate action strategy. On Earth Day, the company reinforced its commitment to sustainability across its business operations. Aligned with India’s updated Nationally Determined Contributions, DS Group’s roadmap focuses on decarbonisation, resource efficiency, and responsible growth. The company is preparing a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory for FY2024–25, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions across operations, energy use, and the supply chain. This exercise aims to identify key emission drivers and enable targeted actions to reduce environmental impact.
The event also featured discussions on the importance of green infrastructure, smart city solutions, and community engagement in achieving sustainable urban development. Experts emphasized the need for integrated approaches that combine technological advancements with policy measures to create resilient and sustainable cities. The event concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to collaborate and accelerate the transition towards a greener and more resilient future.
