The former Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, has acquired the legendary Spelling Manor in Los Angeles, a property larger than the Taj Mahal and the White House. The 56,500 sq-ft French chateau-style estate, now simply called '594,' will host meetings and gatherings for LA nonprofits and cultural institutions.

The mansion is known as the Spelling Manor or the Manor, but Eric Schmidt and his wife Wendy refer to it as '594,' based on its address at 594 S Mapleton Drive.
Eric Schmidt paid $110 million for the mansion.
The mansion boasts 14 bedrooms, 27 bathrooms, a two-lane bowling alley, a wine cellar, a beauty salon with massage and tanning rooms, a screening room with a 60-ft screen, a swimming pool with 170,000 glass tiles, and a tennis court.
The previous owner was British heiress Petra Ecclestone, the daughter of Formula One legend Bernie Ecclestone.
The Schmidts plan to use the mansion primarily for hosting meetings and gatherings tied to LA nonprofits and cultural institutions. They also have comprehensive plans to remodel the house to maximize its energy efficiency.
