Pune, 21st August 2025: In view of the massive rush of devotees during Ganeshotsav, Pune Metro has announced extended passenger service timings, including a record 41-hour continuous run on Anant Chaturdashi.

Ganeshotsav, recognized as a state festival by the Maharashtra government, draws lakhs of devotees to Pune every year. The newly inaugurated underground metro route from District Court to Swargate—which includes District Court, Kasba Peth, Mandai, and Swargate stations—covers the heart of the city where many prominent Ganpati Mandals are located. Officials said the move will help citizens avoid traffic jams and reach mandals directly and safely.

According to the revised schedule, Pune Metro services will run as follows: 27 to 29 August 2025: Regular timings, 6 am to 11 pm. 30 August to 5 September 2025: Extended timings, 6 am to 2 am. 6 to 7 September 2025 (Anant Chaturdashi): Continuous service for 41 hours, from 6 am on September 6 to 11 pm on September 7. Pune Metro officials said the decision aims to provide maximum convenience to citizens and ease travel for devotees visiting central Pune’s Ganesh mandals.

Normal services will resume on 8 September 2025. Authorities have appealed to devotees to make full use of the metro service during Ganeshotsav and Maharashtra Rajyotsav celebrations.
