Gautam Adani's Realty Wealth Dips 7% to Rs 52,320 Crore: Report
Real Estate:Gautam Adani's wealth from the real estate business has declined by 7% to Rs 52,320 crore in the year to June 2025, according to a report released on Thursday. Despite this dip, Adani remains the third wealthiest individual in the sector, with a strong focus on ambitious projects such as the Dharavi and Motilal Nagar redevelopments in Mumbai.

Adani is set to become the wealthiest realty sector individual in the next five years, according to officials from Hurun Research and Grohe. They cited informal discussions indicating Adani's strong ambition to overtake DLF, the current leader in the sector.

At present, DLF's Rajiv Singh leads the Grohe-Hurun India Real Estate 150 list with a fortune of Rs 1.27 lakh crore. He is followed by BJP leader and Maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who has a wealth of Rs 92,340 crore.

'Adani is very ambitious. Their ambition is to take over from DLF to be at the top in the next five years,' Anas Rahman Junaid, the chief researcher and founder of Hurun India, told reporters. Priya Rustogi, Grohe's leader for India, also agreed with this assessment.

Adani Realty, which is fully owned by the Adani family, is already the most valuable unlisted real estate company, according to Rahman. The researchers use a scientific method to assess wealth across the sector.

Lodha's wealth includes only his stake in the listed Macrotech Developers and excludes that of his son Abhinandan Lodha. The wealth of DLF's Singh grew by 3% during the year, while Lodha's increased by a modest 1%. The report also highlighted a significant 29% surge in the wealth of Bengaluru-based Raja Bagmane, who now has a fortune of Rs 25,270 crore, and a 10% increase in Atul Ruia's wealth to Rs 26,410 crore.

The cumulative value of the 150 companies in the list grew by 14% during the year, down from a 70% jump in the previous year. Each of the 150 companies is valued at at least Rs 1,000 crore or more.

Schloss Bangalore, led by Deepak Parekh, is the youngest company on the list, achieving a valuation of Rs 13,600 crore within six years. Peninsula Land, established in 1871, is the oldest company on the list with a valuation of Rs 1,000 crore.

The list also noted that only 33 of the 150 companies are led by professional CEOs, and just four are led by women.
