Central Railway's Pune Division has commissioned the Ghorpuri–Hadapsar third line, adding extra rail capacity on the busy Pune–Daund section. The move is expected to ease congestion on existing tracks and improve punctuality of suburban and long-distance trains passing through eastern Pune.
Better connectivity for eastern Pune
The new line will allow more frequent local services between Ghorpuri, Hadapsar and beyond, directly benefiting daily commuters in areas such as Hadapsar, Wanowrie and Kharadi. With separate infrastructure for slow-moving freight and passenger trains, the corridor can handle higher volumes without major delays.
What it means for property buyers
Rail connectivity remains a key factor for real estate demand in Pune. Localities near the Ghorpuri–Hadapsar corridor are likely to see increased interest from homebuyers and investors, especially for affordable and mid-segment housing. Improved transit access also supports long-term rental demand in micro-markets like Hadapsar, Manjri and Loni Kalbhor.
While the immediate impact will be felt by commuters, the additional capacity on the Pune–Daund route strengthens the case for transit-oriented development along the corridor. Property buyers should monitor infrastructure upgrades when evaluating locations, as improved rail links often influence price appreciation over time.
