The main purpose of the new guidelines is to prevent real estate developers from using misleading advertisements and disclaimers, ensuring that consumers receive accurate and clear information about housing and commercial projects.
Developers are required to refrain from using disclaimers, clearly indicate amenities in their advertisements, display the Goa RERA registration number, and accurately represent the project's location without mentioning travel times.
Displaying the Goa RERA registration number helps ensure that consumers can verify the legitimacy of the project and the developer, enhancing transparency and trust in the real estate market.
By prohibiting disclaimers, consumers are protected from false or misleading information, ensuring that the promises made in advertisements are accurate and can be relied upon.
Developers who fail to comply with these guidelines may face penalties and legal action, as RERA is committed to enforcing these rules to protect consumer interests and maintain market integrity.
