ORERA is a regulatory body established to oversee and enforce compliance with real estate laws and regulations in the state of Odisha, India. It aims to protect the interests of homebuyers and ensure transparency in the real estate sector.
Authorities have been instructed to invoke the Odisha Public Demand Recovery (OPDR) Act to recover penalties from defaulters, and joint enforcement drives will be conducted with the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Monthly coordination meetings among ORERA, the revenue and disaster management department, and the housing and urban development department will streamline efforts and enhance communication, ensuring consistent action against unauthorized real estate developments.
All district collectors and tehsildars have been instructed to identify and report unauthorized real estate developments to ORERA on a monthly basis, helping to maintain a comprehensive database of such activities and ensuring prompt action.
