Developers are now required to prominently display QR codes, project registration numbers, and the RERA website link in all their publicity materials.
RERA is issuing notices and considering fines for developers who fail to comply with the new display norms.
The QR code is a more practical way for stakeholders to access project details, as project registration numbers can be lengthy and difficult to accommodate in advertisements.
The requirements are based on Section 11(2) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, with the QR code requirement added from June 15, 2025.
Non-compliant developers may face heavy fines and legal actions, which can significantly impact their business operations.
