GUJRERA stands for the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority, a regulatory body established under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016 to protect the interests of homebuyers and ensure transparency in the real estate sector.
The Aroma Heights scheme was suspended by GUJRERA after the Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA) cancelled its development permission.
The consequences of the suspension include the prohibition of marketing, booking, and selling units of the project, as well as the suspension of further construction. Violation of these provisions can lead to penal action.
The developers of Aroma Heights are Snehal Boghawala, Dhaval Jariwala, and Amit Mali, partners of Surat-based Friends Infra.
As of 2023, 33 apartments in the Aroma Heights project were booked, while 107 were pending. The project's development permission was suspended, leading to the RERA ban.
