Neelesh was a 23-year-old woman from Delhi who went missing on May 28, 2023. Her body was found stuffed in a suitcase near a canal in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, on May 30, 2023. She was strangled to death.
The accused is Satendra Yadav, a 29-year-old resident of Delhi’s Vinod Nagar who worked with a real estate firm. He was arrested on June 6, 2023.
The police identified Neelesh's body through a missing person’s complaint filed in Delhi. Her yellow suit and a Tulsi beads necklace helped her family identify her.
According to the police statement, Yadav allegedly strangled Neelesh using her scarf when she asked for Rs 5.25 lakh that she had loaned him. He then stuffed her body into a suitcase and dumped it near a canal.
Neelesh was engaged to a man in UP’s Etah district and was planning her wedding. She also wanted to open a beauty parlour of her own after her marriage.
