Housing sales in India's top eight cities declined by 1% during the July-September 2023 period, with 95,547 units sold compared to 96,544 units in the same period last year.
Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR experienced a decline in housing sales, with decreases of 22%, 28%, and 21%, respectively.
Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata saw increases in housing sales. Bengaluru saw an 18% increase, Hyderabad a 53% increase, Chennai a 113% increase, and Kolkata a 33% increase.
High prices and reduced supply were the main factors contributing to the decline in housing sales in cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR.
