Real Estate Pune:A disturbing incident of kidnapping has sent shockwaves in Wakad, Pune, after a woman was abducted by her husband and his accomplices in broad daylight. The incident, which was caught on CCTV cameras, has sparked widespread outrage on social media.

The 27-year-old woman, a resident of Wakad and native of Ambegaon, had been living separately from her husband, Sumit Shahane, due to marital disputes. Despite their separation, Sumit had been trying to reconcile with his wife, but she had refused.

On Wednesday, 19th June, the woman was at her office when Sumit, his relative Vikrant, and her mother-in-law arrived and engaged in an argument with her. The argument reportedly centered around sexual relations between the couple. Enraged by her refusal to reconcile, Sumit, along with his mother and Vikrant, forcefully kidnapped her, sedated her, and took her to Ambegaon and subsequently to Manchar, where Sumit reportedly lives.

The victim was subjected to physical abuse, had her phone confiscated, and was sedated repeatedly. However, she managed to escape when she got the opportunity and reported the incident to Wakad Police Station on Friday, 21st June.

The Wakad Police have registered a case against Sumit, his mother, and Vikrant under IPC Sections 365 (Kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person), 328 (Causing hurt using poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). Police Sub-Inspector NM Suryawanshi from Wakad Police Station is investigating the matter further.
