Hyderabad Agencies Use Robots to Clear Drains Near Ameerpet Metro Station
Real Estate:The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) are utilizing robots to clear the silt and plastic waste clogging the underground drains near the Ameerpet metro station. This innovative approach aims to prevent flooding in the area, which has been a recurring issue during heavy rains.

On Tuesday, September 9, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath inspected the de-silting works near the Ameerpet metro station. The officials informed the commissioner that the de-silting works on the Ameerpet main road, under the metro station, are expected to be completed within 4-5 days.

Explaining the need for using robots to clear the hardened silt fully or partially blocking the box drains under the metro station, the officials highlighted the importance of robo technology in addressing the flooding issues in the area. The robots are designed to navigate the narrow and challenging spaces of the underground drains, ensuring a thorough and efficient cleaning process.

HYDRAA has also been active in clearing encroachments in lakes in Tukkuguda. The agency has filed two cases against Vertex Real Estate for illegally dumping debris inside the Kothakunta tank, located in Tukkuguda municipality. Additionally, the agency has demolished illegal structures constructed by Vertex Real Estate in Suram Cheruvu.

HYDRAA clarified that it will not interfere in the dispute between Vertex Real Estate and Chaitanya Reddy. The agency stated that it made both parties sit together to resolve the dispute, which was about a road laid by Vertex Real Estate, on land claimed by Chaitanya Reddy. According to HYDRAA, Chaitanya Reddy claims to have paid Rs 50 lakh to Sunkari Naresh of Vertex Real Estate, but Sunkari Naresh maintains that he received the amount for his services as an advocate.

HYDRAA disclosed that Sunkari Naresh has been removed from the bar council’s membership but has obtained a temporary stay against the removal. The agency hopes that the police investigation by the Pahadi Shareef police station will reveal more about the involvement of middlemen in the transaction, as alleged by Chaitanya Reddy.

HYDRAA condemned what it called Sunkari Naresh’s false propaganda against the agency. The agency remains committed to its mission of protecting and preserving the city’s natural resources and ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.
