The couple, Parashuramulu and Madhavi, created a fake real estate venture named Skanda Sri Infra Developers. They forged documents and collected Rs 22.5 lakh from two women, Ramya and Veena, on the pretext of selling property.
When the victims demanded the registration of the plots, the couple allegedly threatened them. This led the victims to file a complaint with the Bowenpally police.
Following the complaint, the Bowenpally police booked a case and conducted an investigation. They arrested the couple and recovered forged documents and other incriminating evidence.
Potential buyers should verify the legitimacy of the seller and the documents provided. Consulting with a legal expert or a trusted real estate agent can also help prevent falling victim to such scams.
Reporting such incidents to the authorities immediately can help prevent fraudsters from targeting more victims and can aid in the recovery of lost funds. It also sends a strong message that such fraudulent activities will not be tolerated.
