The decrease in water levels is primarily due to a reduction in heavy rainfall upstream, leading to lower inflows into the Himayatsagar reservoir.
Four floodgates have been opened at Himayatsagar to manage the water levels and prevent flooding.
The Moosarambagh and Puranapul bridges remain submerged due to the continued inflows into the Musi River.
The Rajendra Nagar police have closed the ORR service road (Exit 17) as a precaution. The road will reopen based on the HMWSSB’s assessment of the water flow.
The current water level at Osman Sagar is 1,786.05 feet against the Full Tank Level (FTL) of 1,790.00 feet.
