HYDRAA's Tips for Safe Property Purchases in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Authority (HYDRAA) has provided valuable advice to individuals planning to purchase apartments or houses in the city. On Monday, HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath urged buyers to thoroughly verify property details before making any purchases.
One of the key points highlighted by the Commissioner is the importance of ensuring that the property is not built on encroached land, particularly stormwater drains (nalas). Such properties may face legal and environmental issues, and there is a risk of demolition based on government orders.
In a recent press release, HYDRAA reported that a total of 47 petitions were received at Prajavani, with most of them related to encroachments on nalas and old layouts. To prevent urban flooding ahead of the monsoon, the HYDRAA Commissioner directed officials to expedite the removal of garbage and encroachments from major stormwater drains, particularly in areas like Chintal Basti and its surroundings.
De-silting and anti-encroachment operations will be intensified in the coming days to minimize flood risks during heavy rains. HYDRAA has been designated as the lead agency by the Telangana government to handle emergencies during the monsoon season in the city. This includes inter-agency coordination and relief efforts.
As HYDRAA prepares to tackle monsoon emergencies and aims to make Hyderabad free from encroachments, it has strongly advised people to verify property details before buying apartments and houses in the city. This includes checking whether the property is built on encroached land or in violation of any other regulations.
By following these guidelines, potential buyers can avoid legal complications and ensure they invest in a safe and secure property. HYDRAA's efforts are part of a broader initiative to improve urban infrastructure and protect the city’s residents from environmental and legal risks.
