Earlier, Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar had issued a show cause notice to Manorama Khedkar over the misuse of a licensed gun. She was asked to respond within 10 days, but failed to comply.
A case has been registered against her under the Arms Act in the Pune rural police jurisdiction, based on a complaint by a local farmer who alleged that Manorama Khedkar and others had threatened him.
Meanwhile, Puja Khedkar, a probationary IAS officer, has been summoned by the Pune police to record her statement regarding her harassment complaint against Pune District Collector Suhas Diwase. Khedkar had filed a complaint with the Washim police, which led to her removal from the District Training Programme of the State Government of Maharashtra.
