The IMC is currently struggling with a severe financial crunch, facing difficulties in paying contractors Rs 700–800 crore and unable to attract new tenders.
The IDA has registered a record-breaking revenue of Rs 580 crore from property sales in the first four months of the current financial year.
The IDA's portfolio includes 817 residential plots, 428 commercial plots, 12 educational plots, 30 PSP plots, over 1,500 ready-to-move 1, 2, and 3 BHK flats, and 126 commercial shops.
The Bada Ganpati flyover project, funded by the IDA, aims to decongest one of the city’s busiest intersections. It will improve traffic flow toward Malharganj, MG Road, and Rajwada, reducing traffic bottlenecks.
The project involves relocating old drainage and Narmada water pipelines, which will be handled by the IMC. The IDA will then begin flyover construction, with the entire process estimated to take around eight months.
