The VBSLP is a major infrastructure project aimed at extending the existing Bandra-Worli Sea Link northwards to Versova, spanning approximately 17 km with key connectors at Bandra, Carter Road, Juhu Koliwada, and Versova.
The VBSLP is expected to significantly reduce travel time, ease traffic congestion, and boost tourism and real estate development along the west coast of Mumbai.
The project includes a zero-signal driving experience and advanced traffic management systems, making it a game-changer for urban mobility in Mumbai.
The MSRDC has invited applications from fisherfolk whose livelihoods will be impacted by the project. Fishing activities across six coastal villages are expected to be affected, and a socio-economic survey by TISS has identified 1,637 fisherfolk in the project’s ‘zone of influence’.
