The Global REIT Alliance is a coalition of organizations representing the global Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) sector. It aims to provide a coordinated platform for policy dialogue, market standards, and data-sharing to support the growth of REITs as an investment asset class.
The Indian REITs Association joined the Global REIT Alliance to enhance the Indian REIT market’s global integration, promote cross-border cooperation, and benefit from international best practices and policy dialogue.
The six key focus areas of the Global REIT Alliance include promoting global awareness of securitised real estate, creating a network for industry coordination, informing public policy frameworks, aiding standards and benchmarks, supporting sustainable investment practices, and improving access to market data.
The founding members of the Indian REITs Association include Brookfield India Real Estate Trust, Embassy Office Parks REIT, Mindspace Business Parks REIT, and Nexus Select Trust.
The expected benefits include enhanced policy dialogue, improved market standards, greater access to global data and best practices, and increased visibility and credibility of the Indian REIT market on the global stage.
