REITs, or Real Estate Investment Trusts, are investment vehicles that allow investors to invest in income-generating real estate properties without direct ownership. They are important in the Indian market because they provide a platform for both retail and institutional investors to diversify their investments and benefit from the growth of the real estate sector.
The IRA plans to attract more investors to the REITs market by enhancing regulatory frameworks, improving market liquidity, raising awareness about the benefits of REITs, leveraging technology for transparency, and promoting sustainable practices in the real estate sector.
