Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are companies that own or finance income-generating real estate. They allow investors to invest in a diversified portfolio of properties without directly purchasing and managing them.
There are four publicly listed REITs in India: Brookfield India Real Estate Trust, Embassy Office Parks REIT, Mindspace Business Parks REIT, and Nexus Select Trust.
In the first quarter of FY26, the four listed REITs in India collectively distributed Rs. 1559 crore to over 2.70 lakh unitholders.
As of Q4 FY25, the total AUM (Assets Under Management) of the Indian REIT market stands at approximately Rs. 1.63 lakh crore.
