Real Estate News:Dhanteras once again proved to be the most prosperous shopping day of the year in Indore, as city markets recorded business worth over Rs1,200 crore, including real estate. Even intermittent rain could not dampen the festive spirit, and from morning till midnight, shoppers crowded the city’s markets, eager to make auspicious purchases believed to bring prosperity. Jewellery stores, automobile showrooms, utensil markets, and electronic outlets reported massive rushes, while streets shimmered with festive lights and decorations.

According to the Indore Automobile Dealers Association, Dhanteras brought a remarkable sales surge, making it one of the strongest days for the automobile industry. Dealers delivered 5,000 two-wheelers and 2,000 cars on Saturday, with an additional 3,000 bookings made for the following days.

Vishal Pamnani, Joint Secretary of the association, stated, “As the festival is divided into three days, the dealers across Indore would deliver more than 3,500 cars and around 11,000 two-wheelers till Diwali. The Tata dealership would deliver around 500 cars, while other dealerships also saw huge demand.” Customers from nearby districts also booked vehicles in Indore, contributing to the Rs700 crore turnover in three days. Deliveries will continue through Sunday and Monday, he added.

The Sarafa Bazaar remained the city’s glittering hub of activity despite soaring gold and silver prices. Lightweight jewellery, silver coins engraved with deities Lakshmi and Ganesh, and investment-grade pieces were in high demand. According to Hukam Soni, president of the Indore Sarafa Jewellers Association, “This year, silver ornaments and coins witnessed exceptional demand, far higher than previous years. Despite high gold prices, families continued their traditional purchases, especially those preparing for weddings.” Jewellery sales reached an estimated Rs250 crore, with many considering precious metals a secure investment offering 20–25% returns by next Dhanteras.

The Bartan Bazaar also witnessed heavy footfall, reflecting the age-old custom of buying utensils on Dhanteras. Shoppers showed renewed interest in brass, copper, and bronze utensils, along with modern dinner sets and designer cutlery crafted from traditional metals. Dealers reported continuous sales from evening till late night, taking total business to Rs8–9 crore.

Major electronic markets including Vijay Nagar, Sapna-Sangeeta, MTH, Rajwada, and Palasia were packed with buyers. Sales of refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, laptops, and kitchen appliances soared as customers took advantage of festive offers. The electronics and appliances sector recorded business worth approximately Rs100 crore.

Dhanteras also proved auspicious for property investors. Developers launched attractive schemes and festive discounts, leading to strong property bookings and transactions worth around Rs250 crore in a single day. Many buyers consider this period the most favorable time to invest in homes and commercial spaces.
