Institutional Investments in Indian Real Estate Soar to $637.9 Million in Q1 FY25
Real Estate:The Indian real estate sector has witnessed a significant surge in institutional investments in the first quarter of FY25. According to a report by Vestian, a real estate consultant, institutional investments in Indian real estate rose 96% in April-June to $3.1 billion from $1.6 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Domestic investors have played a crucial role in this growth, pumping in $637.9 million in the Indian real estate during April-June, a fivefold jump from the previous year. Foreign investors, however, remained the dominant investors, infusing $2,218.1 million in April-June as against $1,459.2 million in the year-ago period.

The industrial and warehousing sector emerged as a clear winner, with a single large deal worth $1.5 billion, accounting for 48% of the total investments received in Q2 2024. Residential and commercial assets followed with 24% and 20% share, respectively.

The influx of institutional investments in residential assets rose to $732.8 million from $57.8 million, while industrial and warehousing assets got $1,500 million in April-June 2024 as against $133.9 million in the year-ago period.

Shrinivas Rao, CEO of Vestian, attributed this growth to the robust economic growth and the looming uncertainty over the major economies of the world fading away. \
