Jennie of BLACKPINK Acquires Entire Building in Seoul for $14 Million, Stuns Fans
BLACKPINK member Jennie has once again made headlines, this time for a major real estate deal in Seoul, South Korea. Reports say the singer recently bought a building in the Yongsan district for KRW 20 billion (approximately $14 million). What surprised many is that she paid the full amount in cash. Sources share that Jennie purchased the property in May 2025 and the ownership transfer was completed in December.
According to Korea Economic TV, the building is located in Dongbinggo-dong, which has many foreign embassies. In fact, the property, purchased by Jennie, was once used as the Embassy of Iraq. The land size is 595 square meters, while the total floor space measures 551.08 square meters. The structure includes one basement level and two floors above ground.
This isn’t Jennie’s first expensive purchase. Last year, the South Korean singer rented a whole new building in Hannam-dong for her agency, Od Atelier. Reports say the monthly rent was over 60 million won. In 2023, she also bought a luxury villa in UN Village for 5 billion won, for which she also paid the full amount in cash.
Dongbinggo area is expected to grow in the coming years. Hannam New Town is being rebuilt and Yongsan Park is also in progress. Work in Hannam District 5 has already started, while some former US military bases, like the US Army Transportation Corps site, the UN Command site, and the Camp Kim, are expected to be rebuilt into high-end homes and business spaces in the future.
Along with her group activities, Jennie has also created a strong path as a solo artist. In 2025, she released her album Ruby, which received a huge response from fans. Her single 'Like Jennie' also performed very well and set new records. At the same time, BLACKPINK is preparing to release their third mini album, 'Deadline,' on February 27. This will be their first new music together in more than three years. The album has five tracks, including the title song 'GO,' along with 'JUMP,' 'Me and My,' 'Champion,' and 'Fxxxboy.'
