The J&K Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JKRERA) is a regulatory body established by the J&K government to oversee and regulate the real estate sector. It is responsible for ensuring that real estate projects comply with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, and protecting the interests of homebuyers.
JKRERA will be operational from December 16, 2024.
Key responsibilities of JKRERA include registering real estate projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, monitoring project progress, penalizing defaulters, and resolving disputes between homebuyers and developers.
JKRERA will provide homebuyers with transparent and reliable information about real estate projects, and it will offer a mechanism to resolve disputes, thereby protecting the rights and interests of homebuyers.
