KCR Accuses Congress of Transforming Pharma City into a Real Estate Project
Real Estate:BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao has accused the Congress government of dismantling the Pharma City project and converting it into a real estate venture under the banner of Future City. He alleged that the government was misleading the High Court and the public while attempting to sell Pharma City land parcels to private entities despite judicial restrictions.

Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Chandrashekhar Rao said the Revanth Reddy government was seeking to quietly sell Pharma City land parcels despite clear judicial restrictions. “The High Court has categorically stated that these lands cannot be used for any other purpose. While the government claims before the court that there is no diversion, land is being allotted at the ground level to private entities like Vantara and film studios. What exactly is happening in this State?” he asked.

Recalling Hyderabad’s evolution into a global pharmaceutical hub, he said the city today accounts for nearly one-third of the world’s vaccine production. He asserted that Pharma City was conceived as a logical extension of that ecosystem. “We spent five to six years planning it, acquired 14,000 acres without conflict, obtained environmental clearances, introduced Zero Liquid Discharge technology, and sanctioned a medical college alongside it,” he said.

The former Chief Minister explained that the Mucherla project was designed after extensive global studies on pollution control, with the objective of relocating polluting units under strict State supervision to protect Hyderabad. “Our intent was to safeguard the city, not suffocate it,” he said, accusing the Congress of sacrificing long-term planning for land monetisation. He vowed that the BRS would expose this systematic land scam.
