Sandeep Patil, former India cricketer, has been appointed as the head of a new private sports facility in Kolkata, inspired by the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

In the future, the academy will cater to all sports, including tennis, football, and basketball, with Leander Paes set to look after tennis and former India goalkeeper Bhaskar Ganguly heading the football academy.
