The partnership ensures the availability of 40’ High Cube containers at ICD Talegaon, which reduces the need to reposition empty containers between Nhava Sheva and Pune, saving time, fuel, and costs while also lowering carbon emissions.
Approximately 45-50 High Cube containers will be available at all times, with an initial throughput target of 200 containers per month.
Future phases will include the availability of 40FT and 20FT dry containers, further expanding the equipment options for exporters in the region.
By reducing unnecessary container repositioning, the partnership helps lower carbon emissions associated with long-haul container movement, contributing to a more sustainable logistics ecosystem.
The partnership helps decongest major ports like Nhava Sheva, reduces overall logistics costs for exporters, and promotes multimodal connectivity, aligning with the vision of a globally competitive and sustainable logistics ecosystem under initiatives like PM Gati Shakti.
