Maharashtra Assembly Polls 2024: Sharad Pawar Predicts Landslide Victory for MVA
Real Estate Maharashtra:In a bold prediction, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has forecasted that the Opposition's Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will win a landslide 225 seats out of 288 in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Pawar's confidence stems from the MVA's impressive performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, where it won 30 out of 48 seats in the state.

The MVA, comprising Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena, the Congress, and Sharad Pawar's NCP, has been gaining momentum in the state. In contrast, the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP, has been struggling to maintain its hold.

Pawar pointed out that in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Opposition had managed to win only six seats in Maharashtra, but this number surged to 31 in 2024. 'Maharashtra is in the wrong hands. In the Lok Sabha polls, people have given results that indicate change. The picture is that the opposition will win 225 of the 288 seats in the (Maharashtra) assembly polls,' Pawar said.

The NCP leader's prediction is seen as a morale booster for the MVA, which is working to capitalize on its momentum in the state. Meanwhile, the BJP-Sena alliance, which had won 41 seats in 2019, was reduced to just 17 in 2024.

In a related development, NCP leader Rohit Pawar had earlier claimed that the BJP might offer Ajit Pawar's NCP only 20 of the 288 assembly seats, and the latter could then walk out of the ruling alliance. However, Rohit Pawar expressed confidence that the people would not fall for 'vote cutters' and would instead vote for the MVA.
