Maharashtra Budget 2024: A Boost to Farmers, Women, and Youth
Real Estate Maharashtra:The Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, presented the state budget on Friday, highlighting several measures aimed at benefiting farmers, women, and the youth. The budget comes ahead of the assembly elections likely to be held in October.

One of the key highlights is the provision of three free gas cylinders every year to 52.4 lakh households under the CM Anna Suraksha Yojana. The government has also decreased the tax on diesel from 24% to 21% for the Mumbai region, resulting in a price reduction of Rs 2 per liter. Additionally, the tax on petrol has been decreased from 26% to 25%, leading to a price reduction of 65 paise per liter.

Farmers in the state are set to benefit from the budget, with the government announcing a Rs 5,000 per hectare bonus for cotton and soybean crops. Milk-producing farmers will also receive a bonus of Rs 5 per liter. The government has increased the financial assistance for deaths due to animal attacks to Rs 25 lakh.

Women in the state will benefit from the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme, which provides financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month to women between the ages of 21 and 60. The initiative is expected to cost the state Rs 46,000 crore annually.

The budget also focuses on the development of the youth, with the introduction of the CM Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana, a skill development program that offers a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000. The government has also announced plans to establish a technical textile park to boost the textile industry.

Other key highlights of the budget include the allocation of Rs 650 crore for the Jal Yukta Shivar Yojana, a project aimed at water conservation and management, and the provision of free electricity to farmers by installing 8.5 lakh solar pumps.

The state government has also announced plans to establish a scuba diving center in Sindhudurg to promote tourism in the coastal region and a housing scheme named after the late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe to provide affordable housing to the people.

To improve healthcare accessibility, the state has decided to increase the health cover under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
