The AVGC-XR Policy 2025 is a policy approved by the Maharashtra Cabinet to boost the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality sectors. It aims to create 200,000 job opportunities and attract investments worth Rs 50,000 crore by 2050.
The policy includes developing AVGC-XR parks with world-class infrastructure, establishing special hubs in key locations, reserving 60% of land in Integrated Industrial Areas and IT parks for AVGC-XR initiatives, and providing additional FSI benefits.
The AVGC-XR technology will benefit sectors such as healthcare, education, marketing, defense, agriculture, and real estate.
The policy includes the establishment of a Maharashtra AVGC-XR Skill Advisory Committee, which will include industry experts, university and academic specialists, and representatives from various industry associations to develop necessary skills and training programs.
The vision is to position Maharashtra as a global destination for AVGC-XR, fostering innovation, economic growth, and job creation.
