12,000 houses will be built for dabbawalas in Mumbai under the PMAY scheme.
The project will be implemented by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) under the PMAY scheme of the Central government.
The 500 sq ft homes will be made available for ₹25 lakh.
The target is to construct 35 lakh affordable homes in the next five years through various housing schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
₹4,000 crore has been allocated for the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS).
