The e-registration system is a digital framework introduced by the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra, allowing for the complete online registration of property agreements, eliminating the need for physical visits to Sub-Registrar Offices (SROs).
Hiranandani Fortune City in Panvel is the first real estate project in Maharashtra to implement the new e-registration system for property agreements.
The key steps include agreement drafting, Aadhaar-based e-KYC, biometric verification, payment of stamp duty and registration charges, and final agreement registration, all executed securely through a digital platform.
The system ensures faster and transparent registration services by digitally tracking and monitoring every transaction, providing immediate access to digitally signed agreements, and reducing paperwork and administrative delays.
The system supports sustainability goals by eliminating the need for paper-based documentation, thereby reducing environmental impact.
