Maharashtra has emerged as the top state in terms of passenger and commercial vehicle sales in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Maharashtra led in passenger vehicle sales in Q2 FY26 with 1,31,822 units sold, representing a 12.7 percent market share.
A total of 2.40 lakh units of commercial vehicles were sold across India in Q2 FY26.
The western zone led the sales in two-wheelers with 19.33 lakh units sold in Q2 FY26.
Uttar Pradesh had a 12.5 percent market share in two-wheeler sales in Q2 FY26, selling 6,92,869 units.
Tamil Nadu was fourth in commercial vehicle sales in Q2 FY26, with 18,508 units sold, representing a 7.7 percent market share.
