Maharashtra Real Estate Agents Exam Sees 87% Pass Rate: A Boost for Transparency and Trust
Real Estate Maharashtra:The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has released the results for the 5th Real Estate Agents examination, marking a significant milestone in the quest for transparency and trust in the real estate industry.

Out of 4,769 candidates who took the test, 4,165 have passed, achieving a passing rate of 87%. This result marks a slight decline from previous years, where passing rates were 96% (1st exam), 93% (2nd exam), 89% (3rd exam), and 86% (4th exam).

Sharad Mota from Mumbai and Divyesh Maheshwari from Pune topped the examination, with a perfect score of 100%. The exam also saw a notable participation from senior citizens, with 196 candidates over 60 years old, including 12 women.

To date, a total of 13,370 candidates have qualified to become real estate agents in Maharashtra, including 4,165 from the latest exam. This is a significant step towards ensuring that agents are well-equipped to provide accurate and reliable information to homebuyers.

MahaRERA has emphasized the importance of training and certification for real estate agents, making it mandatory for new and renewing agents as of January 10, 2023. With approximately 47,000 registered agents in Maharashtra, the regulatory body aims to weed out non-compliant agents and ensure that only qualified agents operate in the market.

Real estate agents play a vital role in connecting homebuyers with developers and providing crucial information about projects and properties. With MahaRERA's certification program in place, homebuyers can now trust that agents are knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the RERA Act, including key aspects such as carpet area, defect liability term, and allotment letters.

By making training and certification mandatory, MahaRERA aims to protect the interests of homebuyers and promote a culture of transparency and accountability in the real estate industry. As the real estate market continues to evolve, it is crucial that agents are equipped to provide accurate and reliable information to homebuyers.
