Umrao Singh Prithviraj Ostwal, the head of Ostwal Builders Pvt Ltd, was arrested for orchestrating a large-scale real estate fraud involving the sale of apartments built with forged permits.
Ostwal is accused of preparing and using fake construction permits and maps to unlawfully construct additional apartment units, which he then sold to unsuspecting buyers, amassing several crores in the process.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) led the investigation that substantiated Ostwal's involvement in these fraudulent activities.
Ostwal is facing various criminal charges, including conspiracy and forgery, as a result of his involvement in the real estate fraud.
