MahaRERA is a statutory body established to regulate and promote the real estate sector in the state of Maharashtra.
The primary objective of MahaRERA is to protect the interests of homebuyers and promote transparency and accountability in the real estate industry.
Deregistration refers to the process of removing a real estate project from the regulatory authority's records, effectively stopping the project's development and sales.
Godrej Properties Ltd opposed the deregistration as they claimed to be allottees/homebuyers for around 100 flats and their rights as homebuyers needed to be addressed before deregistration.
The circular states that homebuyers must be fully settled before deregistration can be approved, which was not the case with Godrej Properties Ltd's claims.
