Maharashtra to Replicate Pune's Model Zilla Parishad Schools: A Step Towards Educational Excellence
Real Estate Maharashtra:Pune, 11th October 2025: The Maharashtra government has recognized the pioneering educational practices, quality teaching, and community-driven school development initiatives at Jalindarnagar Zilla Parishad School in Khed taluka and Vabalewadi School in Shirur taluka, Pune district. Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse announced that this successful model will now be implemented across the state.

Jalindarnagar Zilla Parishad School recently received the “Community Choice Award” at the World’s Best School competition organized by the international organization T4 Education. On the occasion, Minister Bhuse visited the school to congratulate the villagers, teachers, and students. He also toured Vabalewadi School, known for its innovative educational initiatives.

The event saw the participation of MLA Babaji Kale, State Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, Director of the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (MSCERT) Rahul Rekhawar, Pune Zilla Parishad CEO Gajanan Patil, Planning Department Director Krishnakumar Patil, Joint Director Haroon Attar, Deputy Director Ganpat More, Secondary Education Officer Bhausaheb Karekar, Primary Education Officer Sanjay Naikade, and several innovative teachers from across the state.

Minister Bhuse felicitated President’s Award-winning teacher Dattatray Ware, individuals who donated land for the schools, and CSR organizations that contributed funds toward educational development. During the event, a “Srujan (Creativity) Lab” focusing on robotics, coding, simulation, and artificial intelligence was inaugurated at Jalindarnagar School.

“Teacher Dattatray Ware has transformed Zilla Parishad schools in Vabalewadi and Jalindarnagar through community participation. School management committees, villagers, and social organizations have brought state, national, and global recognition to these schools. When a village collectively decides to develop its school, real transformation becomes possible. The work done here is truly inspirational,” Minister Bhuse said.

Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh emphasized that schools like Vabalewadi and Jalindarnagar should serve as models for teachers statewide.

“Teachers must aim to provide modern education, including coding, robotics, and simulation. The facilities available in urban schools can be replicated in rural areas through community participation. Teachers like Ware, through their determination and social involvement, show that this is possible,” he said.

Teacher Dattatray Ware remarked on the changing perception of Zilla Parishad schools following Jalindarnagar’s international recognition.

“Zilla Parishad schools have quality. With determination, consistency, and community support, we can elevate these schools to a global level,” he said.

Minister Bhuse also announced that the Education Department is creating a “data bank” of dedicated and innovative teachers, along with school management committees. He further revealed that Maharashtra will attempt a world record on January 26, 2027, by organizing a statewide patriotic song drill, and instructed schools to begin preparations immediately.

Gajanan Patil, CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad, stated that model schools are being developed across Pune district, featuring initiatives such as student health cards, educational visits to ISRO and NASA, and other programs. A total of 25 schools will soon have Srujan Innovation Labs. Additionally, a Teachers and Students Literary Conference will be held in Pune on November 13–14, 2025.
